Mobile web sites – a project?

Jamie Stanton has written a thought provoking short article on mobile only sites: http://forum.boagworld.com/discussion/6390/mobile-websites-suck.

This would make a nice research project for one of our final year students, asking users of some common sites if they miss anything from the full site when using the mobile version. Looking at the user experience, is it enhanced, degraded or just right for the mobile user? There’s a lot being written in this area, much stemming from Ethan Marcotte’s Responsive Web Design article. We also have things like Andy Clarke’ 320 and up changing the game. There are pro’s and con’s to discuss on the different approaches, tools and opinions. A chance to find out what the users think, what they want.

Something to get your teeth into; something to blog, to discuss at interviews. Show you love this web stuff too!
