Autumn Guest speakers

The schedule for guest speakers for this academic year is slowly coming together. Current we have:

19th November – Louis Georgiou from will be talking to final year students about CMS.

26th November – Mark Mayne from is talking to the same group on Search Engine Optimisation (SEO).

* Also on the 26th at 1pm our friend Dónal Fitzpatrick from Dublin City University will do a talk and demonstration as a screen reader user, talking about his likes and dislikes on the web. How web developers hinder him, and could help him. 1pm in Geoffrey Manton lecture theatre 3.

On Friday 10th of December we have UK web guru Andy Clarke who has just launched his latest book: HardBoiled Web Design.

And in the new year:

14th January – Richard Clark, will will be talking to final year students about HTML5.

Location GM201b at 11am.

AND we will be working with to put together a session in which it is hoped that some of their developers will come in to discuss their upcoming and recent .NET magazine articles on Facebook, creating apps etc. and developing for the mobile web. This might be an evening session open to the public.

Finally, we hope to get The Web Standardistas to drop by for a book signing and fun session for all years and at some stage our dear friend Dónal Fitzpatrick will drop by to demonstrate how he uses his screen reader and the problems we web developers cause him.
